Empowering Individuals Though Musical Experiences

About Me…

Music has been a saving grace of mine throughout some of the most challenging times in my life such as my parents’ divorce when I was 16 to eventually losing them both to cancer before I turned 40. Playing music has helped me process some of my most difficult emotions and find joy and comfort in their expression. My goal and desire is to pay forward that joy and healing. For the past 25+ years, I’ve engaged in a musical journey performing in various bands and ensembles, writing and recording several full length albums, as well as earning a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University in The Music Industry. In addition to my musical journey, I’ve been working with individuals with special needs for over 20+ years, primarily young adults with autism. I have always searched for ways and opportunities to combine these two worlds of mine and have been fortunate to do so through lessons, group jam sessions, various music classes and workshops. Through the gift of music I’ve been blessed to work with and come to know some truly unique and incredible people, as well as their wonderful families. It is my goal and purpose to continue sharing the joy and love that I have found in music with neuro-divergent individuals.

Testimonials

Dan Reilly is an accomplished musician who can parley his skills into supporting individuals with neurodiverse learning abilities with his love of music. Our son, Thomas, has been able to learn basic ukulele skills and techniques that contributed to his self-esteem and success. We were fortunate enough to work with Dan through the pandemic remotely and look forward to opportunities to have in person sessions. Dan is able to work with varying skills and interest levels.  Dan’s exceptional talent has helped my son, to learn how to play, to tune and read ukulele music. My son’s interests in music vary and Dan can pivot quickly to adapt a piece of music to my son’s skill set and emotional storehouse that day. Dan is a patient and compassionate teacher.  We are grateful to have Dan working with us.

My name is Penny Rosman and I am the mother of a 38 year old developmentally disabled daughter, Robin. Eight years ago we had the incredibly good fortune to meet Dan Reilly!  He did a music hour twice a week at Robin’s day program. Dan was so skilled with the group there, it wasn’t long before we arranged for him to come to our home every week for a music time. Dan is very patient and kind. He is also very intelligent, and more importantly, he has so much emotional intelligence and insight into the wants and needs of his clients. Dan is extremely competent and flexible, and he adapts easily to any eventuality. Music with Dan is always the highlight of our week, and without question the activity Robin loves and enjoys the most of all the many activities she has. Dan is a wonderful human being and I can’t express how much he has enriched our lives!
